Chancery Lane, London
Halal Japanese Restaurant in London
Charcoal yakitori, aged beef and wagyu skewers, sushi and lunchtime ramen, made with halal meat and cooked without alcohol, in a hidden dining room off Chancery Lane.
Most Japanese restaurants in London cook with mirin, sake and soy sauce that contain alcohol, and buy meat with no halal assurance. That rules out a lot of yakitori, ramen and robatayaki for anyone who eats halal. The Azuki Room was set up to change that.
All of our meat comes from certified halal suppliers. Every recipe that would normally use alcohol is made with a non-alcoholic substitute instead, down to the soy sauce on the table, so the food keeps its flavour and stays halal.
To be clear for guests who prefer an alcohol-free venue: the bar does serve Japanese cocktails, sake, wine and beer, alongside a full list of mocktails and teas. Alcohol is served at the bar only and is never used in the kitchen.
