The Azuki Room(“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The Azuki Room is operated by Bloodstone Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The restaurant is located at Rolls Passage, off 36 Chancery Lane, London EC4A 1HL. For any data protection enquiry, contact us at info@theazukiroom.com or call 0207 123 6628.
What information we collect
- Newsletter signups. Your email address, the page you signed up from, and the time of signup. We also store anonymised technical data (IP address, browser user-agent) for spam prevention.
- Enquiries. If you email us about a reservation, private event, or press opportunity, we receive your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message.
- Reservations. Bookings are handled by OpenTable. We do not store your booking data ourselves. Please refer to the OpenTable privacy policy for how they handle it.
- Anonymous analytics. We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages are popular and how the site performs. These services do not use cookies and do not identify individual visitors.
Why we use your information (lawful basis)
- Legitimate interests. Responding to enquiries, preventing spam, and understanding aggregate site usage.
- Consent. Sending newsletter updates. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Contract. Honouring reservations and private dining bookings.
Who we share information with
We use the following processors to operate this website and the restaurant:
- Supabase (database hosting, EU region) for newsletter subscriptions and enquiries.
- Vercel (website hosting and analytics) for serving the site and measuring page performance.
- Resend for transactional and marketing email delivery.
- OpenTable for reservation handling.
Each of these providers is bound by data processing agreements that comply with UK GDPR. We do not sell your data to third parties.
International transfers
Some of our processors are headquartered outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the UK Information Commissioner.
How long we keep your information
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Enquiry emails: 24 months from the date of the enquiry, then deleted.
- Anonymous analytics: aggregated and retained indefinitely with no personal identifiers.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Object to or restrict our processing of your information.
- Withdraw your consent for marketing emails at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
